A non-linear career path led LeWaire Waycaster, a 37-year-old mother, not to an office cubicle but to the helm of a burgeoning roofing business. That's the intriguing essence of Novare, a roofing legacy crafted passionately by a married couple, LeWaire and Wes, with a profound intent to do things differently. "In June 2021, we founded Novare with a mission: prioritizing people over profits. Starting from our dining room table, we laid the groundwork and even installed six roofs in the initial seven months of operations," says LeWaire.
Fast forward to now, the growth of Novare knows no bounds – "We achieved seven figures in 2022, and we are consistently growing; we now lead a team of ten project managers overseeing operations in both Alabama and Mississippi," says LeWaire. "We found our niche in specialty residential roof systems, providing high-quality products and unparalleled client experiences. Despite our growth, our commitment remains unwavering: people over profit, always."
Novare has succeeded by staying true to its identity and attracting a specific demographic that appreciates its steadfast commitment to excellence.
As with every business, challenges have not been sparse for Novare but they've met them head-on with a philosophy stitched with discipline and resilience. LeWaire says, "Our primary challenge has been resolutely rejecting conformity to stand out, and interestingly, this steadfastness has been pivotal to our success. Understanding our identity and offerings means not every homeowner aligns with us, and we've learned to embrace that reality."
Novare's aim has been clear: to distinguish themselves in crucial aspects, whether in the quality of the systems installed or the customer experience provided; the goal is to surpass the standards and expectations consistently. Novare has persevered, being firmly committed to achieving this objective.
"Success hinges on setting substantial, measurable goals, creating a to-do list, and taking daily action. It's a straightforward formula: one day, one habit at a time," says LeWaire. "The "firsts" carry lasting memories – the initial significant contract, the inaugural company vehicle, the first team meeting, the first office."
In December, Novare hosted its first company Christmas party, recognizing its team's achievements. Awards were given out for the first time, celebrating the success achieved by their employees, and creating a milestone the company will never forget – people are the essence of any business.
Novare's involvement continues beyond business growth. They've woven the threads of service and community engagement into their corporate spirit. "Whether it's donating roofs to veterans and community centers to sponsoring little leagues and trimming shrubs for elderly clients. If we can help, we do," says LeWaire.
In an arena often clouded by clichés of the 'bottom line,' Novare stands resolute, defining a new narrative that amplifies the essence of human connection over mere monetary transactions. "A fundamental lesson I value and keep at the forefront of all business decisions is that doing the right thing is always the right choice," says LeWaire.
This is a rare but refreshing standard in an age dominated by KPIs and growth projections. Novare's approach has been pivotal in fostering business success, resonating with the community it serves. "For those in this industry, my best advice is straightforward: prioritize service, and the sales will naturally follow," says LeWaire.
Novare's story is more than a story of business success; they are living proof that in a world where conformity is commonplace, the outliers who defy those odds and persevere are the ones who live the most compelling narratives of dedication, innovation, and service.
Novare has been an SRS Distribution customer since November 2021, their branch is Advanced Building Products in Loxley, Alabama.
